A few weeks ago,
The Washington Post featured a story on an organization called the Twilight
The Twilight Wish Foundation helps seniors to experience their lifelong
dreams. The seniors don’t have to be battling a life threatening
illness to qualify; they just have to be a senior with a wish and a financial
need. The Foundation can help fulfill wishes ranging from travelling to
a destination to obtaining a device, such as a wheelchair ramp or hearing
aids, which make everyday living more enjoyable.
When asked why creating and running this organization was important to
her, its President Elinor Foltz said “just because you’re
83 doesn’t mean you don’t have dreams and life left to live.”
She added “our vision is to change how the world views aging one
wish at a time.”
In this season of gift giving, it is heartwarming and inspiring to learn
that organizations such as the Twilight Wish Foundation exist and share
the sheer joy of giving year round.
